The Problem:

Rana Motors faced a pressing challenge that affected not only their operations but also the local business community; fuel theft. Magnified by the economic difficulties in the region, and with estimated losses reaching up to 20% of business fuel budgets, the need for an effective solution was critical.

The search led Rana Motors to explore a variety of platforms and providers, both locally and internationally. However, they found many solutions were either too niche and inflexible or too costly and overly complex, missing the mark for West Africa's distinct business needs.

The Solution:

The discovery of the Sky Ledge platform was a turning point. Sky Ledge’s approach, focused on operational challenges, provided the necessary adaptability to tailor solutions to the specific needs of the industry, all while maintaining affordability and user-centricity. This led to a profitable partnership between Rana Motors and Sky Ledge, resulting in a pilot project in Ghana.

The pilot project involved the deployment of Teltonika FMB140 telematics devices and Technoton DUT-E S7 fuel level sensors across Rana Motors’ fleet. An advanced algorithm was developed by Sky Ledge to predict and detect anomalies in fuel levels due to refuelling, theft, and leaks, achieving over 80% accuracy in initial tests and improving to 95%, with expectations to reach near 99% accuracy.

The Results:

The success of the pilot instilled Rana Motors with the confidence to expand the use of Sky Ledge's solution across their entire fleet nationally. This move not only addressed the initial challenge of fuel theft but also established Rana Motors as a prominent advocate for Sky Ledge's platform and solutions in the region.

The Future Together:

Motivated by the significant impact of the results, Rana Motors plans to continue leveraging Sky Ledge's technology to further enhance fleet efficiency and tackle operational challenges, reinforcing their market leadership and commitment to excellence.

The engagement with Rana Motors highlighted the importance of adaptability, customisation, and a focused approach in solving specific operational challenges within the transport and logistics sector, demonstrating the effectiveness of Sky Ledge's technology and methodology in delivering impactful, real-world solutions.
